This resort is located on Long Bay... one of Antigua’s most beautiful beaches.  First off, we have to talk about the beach.  I feel this is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.  Long Bay is like a hidden cove with two mountains on each side of this incredible beach.  The sand is a powdery white sand.  Besides this, incredible beach is its own reef that keeps the turquoise water calm for swimming.
I want to tell you a funny story.  My husband had been trying to get me to snorkel for years.  Every time we went on a Catamaran trip the water was choppy and it was really scary for me with the boat going up and down and I would not go into the water.  My husband had stayed on this property numerous times and knew that there was a reef right off the beach so the next time we went to Antigua together was in 2002 and he rented a car and he took me to Long Bay where Grand Pineapple Beach Resort is located, so we could do some snorkeling in calm, shallow water and right off the beach.  Mind you that I never snorkeled before so I did not know what to expect.   But I am going to let Gary finish the story.  We started swimming around the reef and everything was going good.  Debbie was actually snorkeling.  I was really happy.  Then all of a sudden I started feeling her climbing on top of me.  She was actually trying to climb on top of me to get out of the water.  Now you have to understand she is pushing me into the reef, I am cut and bleeding, I stop and asked her what is going on why are you on top of me.  She looked at me with a terrified face and said there's fish down there.  I started laughing saying you are suppose to see fish when you are snorkeling.
Well I did not know.  Now I love snorkeling and love to take pictures while doing so.
Although this resort does not offer diving at this location, if you bring your own scuba gear you can dive right off of the beach at this gorgeous reef.   You will not be sorry.
Let's get back to the Grand Pineapple Resort.
Did you that the Grand Pineapple Resort is owned and operated by Sandals Resorts

Grand Pineapple Beach resort is a budget friendly all-inclusive resort for families, couples or friends.   My husband and I have stayed at this resort and had a fantastic time.
This resort has a lot of charm and personality from the moment you enter the open lobby.  The lobby is filled with hand-carved furniture. When you stay at this resort, relaxation comes easy.
This resort is surrounded by powdery white sand and blue water so clear it literally takes your breath away, and the reef to snorkel is within feet of entering the water. It is a great place for families to come together and swim in the calm, warm water at the beach at Pineapple Beach Resort.  Let me tell you a little about the resort.
This hotel has 180 rooms, three bars and two pools (one of them being aduly only).  The rooms may feature a king or queen size bed or two double beds with either a balcony or patio. This hotel even have rooms that are wheelchair accessible.
The Topaz restaurant is a buffet style from breakfast and lunch and at night they either have a themed buffet or a la carte dinner.  This restaurant is known for their banana bread.  While  eating at this restaurant the view of the beach and water are beautiful and peaceful.  My husband and I always had a wonderful meal here.
Then there is Chief’s Pietro.  You can reserve your table right next to the beach where you can eat great Italian food.  My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Chief's Pietro.
Another restaurant is the Pineapple Grill. This restaurant offers authentic Caribbean favorites, and is located in the garden area with beautiful flowers.
I just want everyone to know that the food is really good and is one of the highlights of Grand Pineapple Resort.
But this hotel is famous Ms. Mary and her chicken and ribs at The Outhouse restaurant.  This original rustic establishment sits high atop of a cliff above the Grand Pineapple Beach Club with a gorgeous view of the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of majestic Long Bay, offering a panoramic view of what seems to go on forever. Be sure to bring along a healthy appetite, so that the legendary Miss Mary can make her famous ribs and chicken.  My husband and I go way back with Ms. Mary. She has been there for many many years.
We first heard that Sandals acquired Pineapple Beach Resort at a repeated guest dinner and mu husband stood up and asked I hope Ms. Mary and the Outhouse will continue.  The manager looked at my husband and smiled and said Ms. Mary will always be there.
The resort offers activities which are included in your package such as volleyball on the beach, windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking and sailing.  They also have hard-surface tennis courts, a fitness center and table tennis.
